Yamaha G60A
Refret and B-Band Installation

I've been wanting a classical ever since I gave the Vibra away. When this poor guitar showed up in the local classifieds I couldn't resist the challenge to rebuild. Along the way I decided to try my hand at a B-Band pickup system installation as well.

What no frets?

This poor Yamaha Classical was advertised as a "Fretless Classical"

Yes, definitely fretless

Woah! Definitely something bad has happened here!

Headstock

Still it isn't in terrible shape aside from the hapless fretboard.

New Frets and Nut

I planed the fretboard flat and got rid of the nasty chips, then installed a new nut and complete set of frets.

Looking Good

It turned out nicer than I'd hoped. It has a wonderful classical tone.

B-Band system

Now that the guitar is certified playable again and since it didn't come with a pickup system....
I really wanted to try my and at this, I picked up a B-Band under saddle system with Pre-Amp.

bluebar

A little nervous about cutting holes through the side of this guitar.

Test fit

Everything fits nice. I didn't get a picture, but I did clean up the edges of the holes, even though it'll never be seen after the cover is on.

saddle drilled

The bridge had to be drilled to accommodate the under saddle transducer.
